The motorcycles donated by RSA’s SMC Foundation are much less flashy as the 60’s RS50s however the GR310 is a nimble and sporty-looking roadster both produced by BMW and Indian motorcycle company TVS.
The turnover ceremony of the brand-new BMW Motorcyles to the PNP held at the Transformation Oval in Camp Crame. Attended by Spencer Yu, President of SMCADC; Kin Lichauco, vice president for corporate affairs of San Miguel Foundation; and also, Cheska Garcia, marketing division head of Petron Corporation.
With those who witnessed the event are officials of the BMW Owners Society of Safe Riders (BOSS), headed by Lito Flores, and members of the HPG Advisory Council who were instrumental in the implementation of the project. PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde and then PNP-HPG director Chief Superintendent Robert Fajardo received the units, which now have official PNP markings with sirens and also blinkers that comply with BMW safety and quality standards.
The PNP leadership will probably deploy the new units of BMW Motorcycles on EDSA since the G310R is lightweight and also compact, to assist the day by day traffic in the field. It could be helpful also in the HPG’s Anti-Crime Operations.
