The Department of Transportation (DOTr) declared by way of their official Facebook account last October 26 that the 3rd and 4th Fast Patrol Boat (FPB) for the Philippine Coast Guard are actually on their way to the country.
The two arriving FPB are going to be commissioned as “BRP Kalanggaman” and “BRP Malamawi.” The stated vessels, the 2 remaining FPBs are actually loaded onto the cargo vessel at Saint Nazaire, France and then stated to arrive on the last week of November 2018.
DOTr declared earlier the arrival in Manila of the first two FPB, “BRP BORACAY” and “BRP PANGLAO”, which has been recently commissioned into the government service on 15 October 2018.
Apart from the latest Fast Patrol Boat of the Philippine Coast Guard, the DOTr additionally said that the construction of the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV270) of 84-meter length is continuing at OCEA shipyard in France which is scheduled for delivery on August 2019.
As soon as the OPV will be delivered to the Philippines, it will be commissioned as “BRP GABRIELA SILANG” in respect of Filipina revolutionary leader and also heroine María Josefa Gabriela Cariño de Silang.
Under the admin of President Rody Duterte, he made guaranteed that the assets of the DOTr along with the Philippine Coast Guard will never be left behind.
The acquisition of the claimed vessels has been implemented by the Department of Transportation for the PCG under the Philippine Ports and Coast Guard Capability Development Project with OCEA S .A of France being a shipbuilder .
