An Open Letter to the Catholic Church: “Clean up your backyard before pretending to clean up the Philippine bureaucracy”

Just another Catholic has actually aired her part on the brewing debate of politics along with the Catholic Church.

A Netizen known as Aveen Acuna-Gulo called out to the bishops and also clergymen concerning the matter of President Rodrigo Duterte together with his “stupid God” mark which was completely blown out of number.

She began by stating that by becoming a Catholic, she experienced down sides including “bearing the brunt of indiscretions” of the people she referred to which are in the hierarchy.

“Dear Catholic Church:

I am Catholic. As a member of a big chunk of Christianity in this country, I bear the brunt of the indiscretions of some of you in the hierarchy.”

She thus pointed out that she didn’t vote for Duterte due to his faith, and also yes, she understands that Duterte carries a foul mouth.

In spite of this, she claims that Duterte is simply throwing these back at all of them with similar force as the Catholic Church’s criticisms.

“I can stand the foul mouth of President Duterte. For one, he is not Catholic anymore. Haven’t you noticed this early on? I understand he is just throwing back the vileness with the same intensity of your criticisms against him. I voted for him to be President of the Philippines and not as an official of the Catholic Church.”

And then she continued by declaring that the Catholic Church need to clean its backyard before directing fingers at anyone. She stated never to allow their hatred jeopardized the objective which they were called for.

“Clean up your backyard before pretending to clean up the Philippine bureaucracy. Remember many of your fellow priests and nuns work in silence and they are a mirror of God’s work on Earth. Don’t let your hatred for Duterte jeopardize the work of your fellow clergy.

You are powerful. And you have become powerful without measure. Be grateful you were powerful since 1521.

Now, leave governance to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.”

She finished it with an excellent statement. Absolutely, the government is going to be much better without the meddling of the Catholic Church, don’t you agree?
